Risk-based Maintenance Planning

In a risk based scope for maintenance (or inspection) decision, risk is basically seen as the multiplication between the value from the probability of failure of a component and the consequences from this failure. It allows then to evaluate the cost expectancy of any event. The maintenance planning can by this way be optimized in order to minimize the global cost expectancy of the considered structure over its lifetime.
